Phase 2, which is expected to be completed in 2023 or beyond, will introduce the full implementation of sharding, including the addition of execution shards, which will process smart contracts in parallel. This will allow for even greater scalability and efficiency, potentially enabling the platform to handle millions of transactions per second.
